They are quite simply the easiest way to get your hands on professional tools that will help you achieve professional mixes that sound like a record. Duende plug-ins provide the superior precision, advanced feature set and legendary tonal characteristics of SSL console products in affordable VST/AU/RTAS* plug-in form. The Duende Native Plug-in suite is a collection of audio processing tools which bring professional audio quality, sophistication and benchmark performance within reach of all DAW users. One advantage to the Duende is that SSL will continue to develop for it and it will only increase in functionality once you buy it.Ī DAW is all about incredible versatility but sometimes quality takes a hit. I think there are advantages and disadvantages to both. To me, the comparison is between the Waves plug in and the Duende.

I've heard nothing but good things about it from people whose opinion I respect. I'm looking to buy something and considering the Waves SSL plug, which I understand is so good that people who hate Waves are holding their nose, buying it, and universally glad they did. So if you have a DAW and you want it to sound better, the question is which of these things do you buy to push the quality line that much further ahead? Focusrite seems a little Focuswrong to me too these days.Īll of this stuff is similar in that it is designed to improve In The Box recording. We'll see, IMO they haven't delivered lately (Focusrite, I mean).

I do, however, have a good amount of interest in the Windows version of Liquid Mix. I haven't heard it, but I have little interest in it.
